Dermatology Waiting Room Hits Seven Weeks, Peptide Researcher Reads Abstracts Instead
With the nearest dermatology appointment now seven weeks away, one peptide researcher spent the wait reading 63 abstracts and developing opinions about p-values.
“I have learned a lot,” he said. “Mostly that everything is ‘promising’ and nothing is ‘proven.'”
How to look up real acne and peptide studies
- Search PubMed for terms like “acne peptide” or “GHK-Cu skin”
- Read the abstract and the conclusion first, then the methods
- Notice whether the study used cells, animals or people
- Look for review articles, which summarize many studies at once
Remember what research is for
Reading studies helps you understand the science. It does not replace a medical professional. If acne is severe or painful, a dermatologist is the right person to see, and no peptide article changes that.
The researcher’s appointment arrives next month. He has prepared a slideshow.
